Fantastic Skincare Friday! Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30

Fantastic Skin Fridays!

Area: Face

Concern: Dull Skin (tone, texture), and Sun Protection

Product: Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30: FAIR TO LIGHT

Price: $17.49 (Ulta’s price)

Function:
I am obsessed with wearing SPF at least 30 or higher… why? Besides using a retinol product at night, dermatologists say that SPF is the best anti-aging product because it prevents premature aging from sun damage… so slather on that SPF! It states right there on the bottle that this is a “sheer tint”. Also, it is full of gold toned shimmer particles (very very tiny). It does give you a radiating glow, and very sheer color coverage.

This is meant to be used as a moisturizer for those suffering from dull skin issues. It is supposed to lighten your complexion using their “soy complex”. So, you are working on the long term benefit while you get an immediate benefit. Now, for an oily skin girl like me this stuff is a little scary at first – we don’t do shimmer unless it’s on the eye or lip… However, this stuff lacks any greasiness and absorbs fairly quickly. In fact, one of my fave uses for this product is for going out of the house for 1. Errands , 2. A long bike ride, and 3. To work (but I add powder over it). My oily skin can tolerate this on my face without powder for about 4 hours before I start looking a little too radiant. However, if I put this underneath my eyes, I do have to powder over it because it irritates my eyes. This is because my eyeballs are very sensitive to chemical sunscreens and they start to water and hurt (and I don’t even put it in my eye, just right underneath to help mask my dark circles).

No Flash (geez my hand looks "old" here)

What a difference a little flash makes!

This is a pump container and it does not clog. This comes in two colors, the other one being simply “MEDIUM”. For an over the counter option, this is pretty good. However, I don’t think I would repurchase this particular one. They have a regular tinted moisturizer that has SPF 30 in it without the shimmer; even though the shimmer isn’t garish, oily skinned girls are frightened of too much shine!

Money Saving Tip: Get it at Target with your 5% off debit card (plus look for Target cartwheel app coupons), or get it at Ulta where you can buy it and earn points!.

Quality: ***/5 (It’s not great enough for me to repurchase, but I’ll consider another product from the brand)

Perks: SPF 30, oil free, brightens skin tone, moisturizes

Bang for your buck: **/5 (For a drugstore moisturizer it’s pricy; this is one to buy on sale)

Disclaimer: I purchased this with my own money and I am not being paid for my opinion.

Do you use a drugstore moisturizer? Do you wear SPF every day? If so, how high is the protection number?
